Ever since the festival began in Oneonta I have always considered it a real treat and rare opportunity to see these beautiful hot air balloons take to the skies over Oneonta not to mention the balloon glow when it gets dark and actually see the hot air balloons up close and fully. The festival events take place between mid June till mid July different dates where the city and its suburbs the halls and the open areas turn into one giant festive stage. The city holds since 1990 a music and opera festival.
